There are several “long-lasting” lip colors around. Some of them claiming to last 8 hours while others claim to last 18 hours. Most of them go on liquid and dry to your lip with a mask like effect. When first testing these long wear lip colors, I would always run into the same problem.
The lip gloss, after drying, would …
(1) feel tight and have a cracked appearance, it was no longer smooth
(2) After eating the lip gloss would begin to flake off
I spoke to a friend of mine who sold Lip Sense and these were her recommendations:
After applying a layer to the bottom lip, wait for it to COMPLETELY dry before applying color to the top lip. This will keep clumps from forming. She proceeded to tell me that if she’s in a hurry she would apply her lipstick to the top and bottom at the same time and would just freeze her face in a yawning expression while the application dried. I laughed at her at the thought of this, but it does work.
After eating, I do recommend re-applying a layer of color. Before doing so, dab your mouth with a napkin to absorb any oil from the food you just had. This will ensure a proper color seal.
As a housewife, I budget. If I have the opportunity to save a penny, I'm going to do it. However, some products are worth the price tag.
